( it's not even a day after the haunted house- quite the opposite, actually. it's late into the night and a distraction sounds nice, now that they've had some time alone- legitimately alone, not... you know. and, well, she's trying to be a bit more open about things- but having someone who knows helps.

the pool is empty and honestly, susie wouldn't mind just curling up with sylvian in one of the deck chairs with a warm drink, but she also knows that's very much not on the agenda if only because after getting some energy back, sylvain is looking... mischievous. )

Sooo... what did you wanna do out here?

( she doesn't entirely mind swimming- she's got that cute swimsuit still, she just would need to go back and change.

[After, well, all that that was the haunted house, there's a nervous energy in the atmosphere that means there's no way he's going to bed after, and besides... he'd feel guilty leaving her alone, too. So they'd ended up just... walking.

And, now, alone at the pool, it's almost like things have come full circle for them after their little weekend date, and he can't help but laugh, a bit. It'd feel romantic, if he was the sort to let himself have that kind of sentiment, right?

(And if not romantic, then... Yes, still better to push those feelings elsewhere, hence the somewhat scheming look.)]

Well, it'd be a shame to not go for a swim now that we're here... [And, as if to head off the suggestion of going back to change-] And it's just us out here, right?

[Well, Susie, one of them is considering you in these sorts of situations.]

well, if that's the case, she could- oh. no. no he doesn't want swimsuits. but you shouldn't wear normal clothes in the p...ool.... )

... Y-you mean, in our clothes...?

( there's a dip in her voice that shows she knows he means without but like, give her a bit to catch up. because when you live your life an undesirable, you don't... say things like that. consider them.

... and if she acknowledges what he truly means, she knows she can't fight the anxiety spiraling, either. )

early week 3

( normally susie might get up and make tea for the morning- she's had the opportunity for more varieties at the resort, and she's been taking advantage of them. but she's not in her room, and sylvain is very warm- so don't mind her scooting a little closer to him instead, purring loudly as she snuggles further into him.

after week two he's had time to get used to this, he'll be fine. )

[Normally, he'd have gotten up a while ago - regardless of if he was in his room or not - to get up, go about his day... but he's been trapped under Susie this morning, and really... doesn't quite feel up to displacing her. She's soft and warm and, sometimes, it isn't too terrible to laze around in bed.

Though when she nestles in a little closer, too, and starts purring, that's a pretty good indication she's awake - at least somewhat - so he holds her a little tighter and nuzzles against the top of her head.]

[There's the slightest little laugh in his voice as he answers - sure, he knows why she wouldn't jump to that conclusion right away, he's seen it, but he still can't help but find it... cute, in a way, how unsure her question had sounded.

It's a little sad, sure, that she hadn't jumped immediately to the conclusion that would clearly fluster her the most, but, well. It's fine. They'll get there.]

give her a moment to just. process this, she guesses? sylvain can enjoy the slow increase of pink on her face before she tries to speak- and fails, because she's not especially good at this, she's sorry- )

( susie beams up at him before turning away to yawn- it's tempting to just go back to sleep, honestly... sylvain's warm like that. but that would mean sleeping through his affections, which feels illegal, definitely. )

[He is warm, and he really wouldn't blame her for cuddling in and going back to sleep - which is itself odd to think about. Usually, he would have slipped away by now, regardless of them being in his room or not.

(In fact, he usually would have ensured they went to her room to avoid that entirely...)

[Calling her out on being cozy!!! Not that it's a bad thing at all.]

[There's the impulse to ask 'why not?' but, well... He knows why not. He saw why not. He understands why not, perhaps more intimately than most.

After all, it might as well have been the same as his 'why me?', at least at this stage.

So he doesn't ask. No point in ruining the mood even before it really had a chance to build.]

( she giggles a little before sighing contentedly- there's very little reason to move right now, unless sylvain wants his freedom. at which point, he'll have to take it, honestly. )

( she shifts only slightly, just enough to look at him. )

But then she's looking at him and he's looking at her, and ends up twirling some of her hair between his fingers idly.]

How it's a shame we couldn't have met under better circumstances...

( she agreed, but. working up the nerve to actually follow through is something else entirely. aaaaaaaa...

at least the first thing to go is obvious- that big jacket of hers, despite the chill of the night air. the crystal on her arm shines in what light there is, but she can ignore it for now, still a bit... bashful.
